Since June, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg has had a new point of contact on campus for sustainability and environmental issues. The Green Office is run jointly by students and the Prorectorate for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship. The next open consultation session will take place on 9 July 2026.
Open consultation hours every second Thursday of the month from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm in Room 1.08 of the main university building (Akademiestraße 6). Initially, the consultation hours are limited to the lecture term. If there is sufficient demand, the frequency will be increased.
At the monthly consultation session, all members of the university community can contribute their questions, ideas and suggestions on environmental issues and sustainability on campus. “In June, the focus was, amongst other things, on the flowering meadows on campus. Students were very interested in questions regarding the ecologically sound mowing of the meadow areas and how the university intends to further promote biodiversity,” says Pro-Vice-Chancellor Karina Sopp. “We look forward to active collaboration and new ideas for a more sustainable campus!”
