Monday cinema in the Audimax - The Banshees of Inisherin
Pádraic Súilleabháin is a kind-hearted, loyal soul, but not a particularly bright one. He lives on Inisherin, a small island off the west coast of Ireland in Galway Bay, in 1923. Every day at 2pm sharp, he sets off to pick up his best friend Colm Doherty at his home to spend the rest of the day having a few pints and chatting about trivia in the local pub. But this time Colm doesn't open the door. A short time later, Colm tells his (former) best friend that he simply wants nothing more to do with him, for no real reason. And he even goes one step further: if Pádraic approaches him anyway and harasses him in any way, he wants to cut off his own finger every time in future until he can no longer play his beloved violin at all...
