Freiberg Colloquium - Lecture: "Mining under the inner city of Freiberg

- CURRENT REHABILITATION OF THE ROTHSCHÖNBERGER GALLERY BETWEEN THE "REICHE ZECHE" AND THE "DREI-BRÜDER" SHAFTS".

The lecture will present the work currently underway to rehabilitate the Rothschönberg adit in the section between the "Reiche Zeche" shaft and the "Drei-Brüder-Schacht" shaft. Access points to the adit are the "Drei-Brüder-Schacht" in the south and the "Rote Grube" shaft in the city centre, near the bus station, which is to be renovated. The speaker presents the background, the scope of the project and the current challenges. By means of many photographs of the ongoing work, the guests will get an impression of the working conditions and work processes underground as well as the challenges and technical solutions during the rehabilitation measure.

Dipl.-Ing. Sirke Beuermann studied geotechnics and has been a technical officer in the old mining department of the Saxon Upper Mining Authority since August 2021. He is the project manager in charge of the measure and thus responsible for its implementation on the client side.

The Freiberg Colloquium is a series of lectures by the Saxon State Office for the Environment, Agriculture and Geology, the Saxon State Archives/Mining Archives Freiberg, the Saxon Upper Mining Authority, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the Helmholtz Institute for Resource Research, terra mineralia and the Geocompetence Centre Freiberg e.V.
