RISE Internship Offers

We offer internship possibilities and you can be our guest through the RISE Germany program. RISE Germany offers summer research internships in Germany for undergraduate students from North America, Great Britain and Ireland. In their internships, students are carefully matched with doctoral students and researchers (only from universities of applied sciences, UAS) – whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. Interns receive a monthly stipend to cover every day costs. About 300 scholarships are available each year.
For 2026 we gladly offer the following 5 internships:
- Using our subsurface for energy and storage solutions: from water and thermal energy storage to geothermal energy production
- Recovery of valuable material from mining contaminated lake sediments enriched in heavy metals
- Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR)
- Mesoscale field trials of newly developed thermosensitive tracers
- Exploring Carbonate Aquifers in a Changing Climate - Hydrogeochemical Reactions in Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (ATES)

Candadian undergraduate applicants have the possibility of additionally applying through RISE-GRI.
