Accompanied by the VocaVox a capella choir of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, 52 students received a Deutschlandstipendium on 4 December. This provides them with financial support for 1 or 2 semesters. "It's great to know that our students receive so much support from business and private individuals. Thanks to the Deutschlandstipendium, they can pursue their studies with fewer financial worries and continue their social commitment," says Professor Swanhild Bernstein, Vice-Rector for Education and Quality Management in Teaching at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Since 2011, an average of 74 scholarships have been awarded each year, which corresponds to a total annual funding volume of around 266,000 euros. The scholarship programme owes this success to the numerous companies, associations, foundations and private individuals who finance half of the scholarship of 300 euros per month for up to one year. The other half comes from the federal government.

The next application for a Deutschlandstipendium is possible in the period from 2 January to 9 February 2025.
