On Tuesday, 14 May 2024, the Behavioural Research Lab was opened at TU Bergakademie Freiberg with a festive event and around 60 invited guests. The Behavioural Research Lab is a research infrastructure for conducting empirical studies in the field of behavioural science. It was founded by Prof. Dr Alexander Leischnig and Prof. Dr Jutta Stumpf-Wollersheim and funded by the Dr Erich Krüger Foundation. The laboratory, which is located in the new library building, is available to all scientists at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg for conducting studies.
After welcoming speeches by the Rector of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Prof Dr Klaus-Dieter Barbknecht, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof Dr Michael Höck, Jutta Stumpf-Wollersheim and Alexander Leischnig presented the laboratory and its potential applications in their lecture. Dr Stephan Dickert from the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London was the keynote speaker for the opening event. In his presentation, he emphasised the relevance of empirical experimental research. Following this, Prof. Dr Gari Walkowitz, Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Economics, explained ethical aspects of empirical behavioural research in his lecture.
The opening event of the Behavioural Research Lab was supported by the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg e.V., the Sparkasse Foundation and the Faculty of Economics. We would like to thank them very much for this!
