Kerstin Schultheiß is Managing Director of Leipziger Versorgungs- und Verkehrsgesellschaft (LVV) and Leipziger Wasserwerke and worked at Verbundnetz Gas AG (VNG) until 2023, where she has held various positions since 1995 - including Managing Director of VNG-Handel & Vertrieb.

"We are delighted to have gained an outstanding personality for the University Council in Kerstin Schultheiß. With her experience and knowledge, she will make an important contribution to the further development of TU Bergakademie Freiberg," explained Professor Bernhard Cramer, Chairman of the University Council of TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

In addition, the members of the University Council Professor Hans Michael Esslinger (appointed from 1 September 2024), Professor Burkhard Schwenker, Professor Andreas Tünnermann, Professor Monika Mazik and Dr Claudia Dommaschk (appointed from 16 December 2024) were confirmed for a further five years. Professor Mazik, Dr Dommaschk and Professor Schwenker were re-elected as members of the University Council by the 9th Senate of TUBAF in June of this year.

This means that the University Council of TU Bergakademie Freiberg is currently made up of the following honorary members:

The University Council is an advisory and supervisory body, it is involved in strategy formation and in the structural and development planning of the university. The responsibilities of the University Council are regulated in Section 91 SächsHSG.
