TU Bergakademie Freiberg today welcomes six new apprentices in various training professions: Administrative Assistant; Electronics Technician, specialising in Energy and Building Technology; Miner and Machine Operator; Materials Tester; Industrial Mechanic and, following the new construction of the University Library, now once again a Specialist for Media and Information Services, specialising in Library. At the start of training on 1 September, the trainees and their trainers were officially welcomed by the staff of the Human Resources Department. With a guided tour of the main university building as well as the Centre for Efficient High-Temperature Material Conversion (ZeHS) and a subsequent joint lunch in the refectory, they then got to know the university, important contact persons and a former trainee and learned interesting facts about the university.

"At the university, trainees always discover new things and get the chance to think outside the box in the international environment of our laboratories, technical centres and administrative units," say those responsible for training at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The university looks back on a long tradition of vocational training. Currently, a total of 18 young people are being trained at the university in the four years of training. This year, three trainees completed their training in the professions of process engineer, materials tester and administrative assistant. All three graduated with above-average examination results and were taken on.

Anyone who is also interested in a vocational training at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, is motivated and is looking for challenging vocational training, can already find out about the opportunities for the start of training in 2024.

As one of the largest employers in the region, the university also offers internships for school students in most apprenticeship professions.

At the fair "Schule macht Betrieb" on 09.09.2023 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Freiberg (DBI), the training team of TU Bergakademie Freiberg will present the training and apprenticeships at the university to interested pupils.
