With the support of the International Office of TU Bergakademie Freiberg, a group of volunteers founded a new team of the ‘Europa macht Schule’ (EmS) programme coordinated by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). International students present their home country in a creative way in schools in the region.
The pupils get to know the respective country from an authentic perspective, while the students gain a deeper insight into German culture. The programme promotes intercultural exchange and helps to strengthen European cohesion.
You are an international student and would like to introduce your home country to a German school class? Please send a message to freiberg [at] europamachtschule [dot] de (freiberg[at]europamachtschule[dot]de).

Organized by student volunteers, the programme is run at more than 35 university locations across Germany. It is supported by the Europa macht Schule e.V. association and the National Agency for Erasmus+ University Cooperation. The programme is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
‘Europa macht Schule’ was developed in 2006 during the student conference ‘What holds Europe together?’, initiated by former Federal President Horst Köhler. Since then, it has become a key initiative in promoting European identity and international exchange.
