Raman
The experimentally orientated working group at the Institute of Theoretical Physics focuses on inelastic light scattering on matter (Raman spectroscopy). This vibrational spectroscopic method can be used to detect phase transitions on solids, for example, and to determine residual mechanical stresses and the concentration of free charge carriers. The measurements are non-destructive, contactless and with high spatial resolution.
- Raman spectroscopic characterisation of ferroelectric and multiferroic thin films and crystals
- Raman spectroscopic characterisation of semiconductors with a large band gap (e.g. GaN, AlN, AlxGa1-xN)
