Festive Matriculation Ceremony 2024
The Festive Matriculation Ceremony is the conclusion of all events for the start of studies. Here, the rectorate of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the mayor of the city Freiberg will welcome you.
Many different performances form a colourful programme and let traditions shine in a new light.
The awards show what is possible with a great deal of commitment and participation in a student's career and honours those who have already lived this dedication.
Admission: from 2 p.m.
Registration for participation is required. Please use the registration form.
Please note: Due to limited space, first-year students can bring a maximum of 2 accompanying persons. The event will also be livestreamed. It is not necessary to register for the livestream. The link will be published on this website shortly before the event.

Dear first-year students,
I would like to welcome you as new members of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. You have received your admission to study and have begun your studies at our university. This marks the beginning of a new phase in your life with many challenges. The professors and staff will accompany and support you in the coming years on your way to a successful graduation.

GET TOGEHTER on the Obermarkt
After the ceremony at the Alte Mensa, all first year students are invited to attend the GET TOGETHER on the Obermarkt.
In order to capture the festive atmosphere, photos can traditionally be taken here with fellow students and friends after the ceremony.
Free beer, free pretzels and live music round off the whole thing and nothing stands in the way of getting to know each other.
