Family tours of terra mineralia - Through the museum at night

Equipped with a headlamp and UV flashlight, you can explore terra mineralia in the dark. On an exciting tour through the dark exhibition, you and your family or friends will look for where fluorescent minerals are hiding in the showcases. In our "Journey into the Light" we then observe the different types of luminescence and marvel at the incredible variety of colors.

In the "Research Journey" hands-on lab, you can then get to the bottom of the phenomenon of fluorescence. In various experiments, students from the TU Bergakademie Freiberg explain what light is actually made of, where ultraviolet light, which is invisible to humans, comes from, and what other forces can also trigger a glow.
