32nd Freiberger Christmarkt
Experience: Christmas!
The Freiberg Christmas Market presents itself in its original mining style every year from the Tuesday before the first Advent until December 22. Against the backdrop of the historic Obermarkt, one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany is created. More than 90 lovingly decorated wooden huts are both decorated in a miner's style and closely linked to Freiberg's history in their offerings. That is why, for example, the "smelter", who melted the ore into silver, now provides delicious Erzgebirge mulled wine. The mining parade followed by a sermon on the Saturday before the Second Advent, the "Little Mining Workshop" for children and the ringing in of the Freiberg Christmas Silence also bring the mining adventure to life at Freiberg's Christmas Market.
Freiberg's city center merchants invite visitors to open Sundays on the 1st and 3rd Advent in the romantically illuminated old town.
The ice rink at Freudenstein Castle, Christmas exhibitions, Bach oratorio and festive concerts round off the Silver City Advent.
