ITUN is very excited to welcome the new thermolysis kiln at ZeHS laboratory site, which was financed by the Dr. Erich-Krüger Foundation situated at TUBAF.
The steering committee of the Dr. Erich-Krüger Foundation was introduced to this quite unique laboratory device with, e.g., a usable volume of the retort of 50 L, an optical access port and capable temperatures of 1.100 °C.
In addition, ITUN had the chance to present to the committee their research strategy of generating carbon-based high-tech materials from renewable biomass resources coming from agricultural residues or industrial side/ waste streams, for example. Possible products could be: (activated) char coal, soil improvers, lumpy coke, ….
Hopefully, this will help to reduce the use of fossil input materials to these products in future.
We appreciated very much this opportunity and the financial support!
