TU BAF has a strong tradition of solving issues of water inflow to surface mines with special regard to minimizing the influence to the natural ground water system. This includes the use of horizontal dewatering wells as well as dealing with dewatering issues in different climate conditions (arid in Mongolia, tropical in Vietnam,  semi arctic in northern Sweden)
