After a warm welcome by the Saxon State Minister for Regional Development, Thomas Schmidt, and a keynote speech by Max Jankowsky on the topics Transformation and Innovation, four exciting projects were presented as "Intelligent Solutions from Saxony".

These included our very special highlight: the simul⁺real laboratory SAMSax. As part of the presentation, Henning Zeidler, Angelika C. Bullinger-Hoffmann and Prof Wagenführ introduced our real-world laboratory to a wide audience. SAMSax combines various competences to ensure the success of this forward-looking project:

The TU Bergakademie Freiberg is responsible for additive manufacturing, a key technology with great potential for innovative mechanical engineering. In Saxony in particular, this technology offers enormous opportunities to drive the flexible and creative economy forward. Thanks to the support of the simul⁺ InnovationHub, we were able to equip our laboratory to the highest level and integrate two unique binder jetting machines.
At the Technische Universität Dresden, Chair of Wood Technology and Fibre Materials Engineering, the focus is on the analysis and processing of residual materials. The focus is not only on renewable raw materials, but also on the diverse secondary raw materials from wood, paper, textile, plastics and mineral processing, which are to be reused sustainably in the sense of the circular economy.
The Technische Universität Chemnitz with the Professorship of Labour Science and Innovation Management acts as a bridge builder in the project. With its expertise in open innovation and Industry 4.0, it strengthens Saxon industry through digitalisation and promoting innovation. Small and medium-sized companies in particular benefit from support in tapping into new technological and economic potential.

The evening concluded with a successful get-together, where participants exchanged ideas about innovations in Saxony and discussed future collaborations.

We would like to thank Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development, the simul⁺ InnovationHub for their support and the Sächsische Aufbaubank - Förderbank - for funding our real-world laboratory. Special thanks also go to Stephanie Schmidt and her team for their tireless efforts and to Kristin Hendinger for her great moderation.

We are looking forward to the next steps in our real-world laboratory and cordially invite you to visit us and see our innovations for yourself. Saxony has a lot to offer - and we are proud to be a part of it!
