Mobile start to your studies - raffle of TUBAFbikes
There is a special highlight at the start of the winter semester:
24 new students will receive a trekking bike to use free of charge for the duration of their studies. The short distances in the university city to lectures, the canteen or the university sports course can thus be covered quickly and in a climate-friendly way.
How are the bikes awarded?
The trekking bikes will be raffled off among all interested participants.
The prize draw for German students will take place during the introductory event on 2 October 2024 at 8:30 a.m. in the new university library.
The prize draw for international students during the Induction / Introduction Part 1.
Who can receive a bicycle?
All first-semester students enrolled at TU Freiberg and Master's students who are new to the university can take part in the prize draw.
How is the use of the bicycles regulated?
The winners of the prize draw will receive a transfer contract together with the trekking bike, which sets out the framework conditions for use. The bikes will be made available for the duration of their studies and will then be returned to the university's bike fleet.
Where can the bike be repaired?
The bikes can be repaired at Sport-Rad Freiberg. Repair is possible by arrangement.
The university's mobility concept
The university is working on a sustainable mobility concept for a climate-friendly campus. One part of the concept is to raffle off bicycle usage options to new students for the 2023/24 winter semester. In future, more bicycles will be made available to students and the university fleet will be gradually expanded.
Further measures as part of the mobility concept
As part of the SteigtUm project, hire stations for cargo bikes will be set up at Freiberg railway station and on campus at the Audimax lecture theatre to promote environmentally friendly mobility in the city and on campus.
