RE-EURECA-PRO invites you to our Open Forum on Sustainability and an online lecture by Prof. Carsten Drebenstedt (TUBAF) on the topic of "Sustainable Space Mining." The open lecture will take place on Zoom on 26 June 2024 at 16:00(CET).

Prof. Carsten Drebenstedt is a professor in the Institute for Mining and Special Civil Engineering at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg. He has been a Professor of Surface Mining since 1999, vice-rector for Research from 2000 to 2006, and Dean of the Faculty of Geoscience, Geoengineering, and Mining from 2013 to 2016. 


His fields of teaching and research activities include mine planning, mining technologies, and ecology in mining, reclamation, and mine water management. 


Carsten Drebenstedt is a member of the Society of Mining Professors (SOMP), where he represented Europe on the council from 2006 to 2015. He is also a member of the World Mining Congress's national and international organizing committees, the International Mine Water Association, and the Secretary General of the World Forum of Resource Universities on Sustainability (WFURS).
