We are pleased to share our latest chemical engineering work on the catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile oragnic compounds (VOCs) in the oxygen-rich flue gas of coffee roasting machines. Field studies conducted on the coffee roasting amchine at Café Momo (Freiberg) demonstrated that highly effcient CO and VOC oxidation can be achieved at temperatures of 350 °C and above using Pt-based monolithic catalysts. These results highlight the successful transfer of laboratory-scale research into a real-world application. Many thanks to the team of Café Momo for their outstanding support and for providing us with the oppertunity to validate the self-made Pt catalyst under practical oparting conditions.
