We conduct research into machines, processes and methods ...
... for an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy supply for society. To this end, our scientists are developing future-proof technologies, new materials and innovative solutions for energy supply.
Energy | Material | Environment for:
- Sustainable energy sources
- Environmentally friendly and efficient energy conversion
- New materials
- Chemical, thermal and mechanical processes
- Innovative design and production
- Resource efficiency and circular economy
We use this knowledge to train engineers who can solve the challenges of the future and create innovations.

Profiling initiative 2025
Take the opportunity now to rate the study conditions at TUBAF!
Students of Faculty 4 are invited to share their experiences and opinions about their studies and rate their study experience as part of the CHE Ranking. All students on Bachelor's and Diploma degree courses in Faculties 4 and 5 can take part, from the third semester onwards and up to the standard period of study plus two semesters. Invitations to the survey were sent by e-mail to all eligible students. The survey will run up to and including February 2, 2025.
Why is participation important?
A high participation rate is crucial for the survey to deliver representative results. This is the only way we can realistically depict the study conditions and ensure that the assessments are published in the CHE University Ranking. If the response rate is too low, important information will be missing for future students who want to make an informed choice of university based on the ranking. Take the opportunity to actively shape your studies and present a comprehensive and meaningful picture of the study conditions at TUBAF in the CHE Ranking 2025.
