The Chair of Reaction Engineering is part of the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering and is assigned to the Faculty of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering. The teaching and research profile of our professorship is mainly related to industrial chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis. The research focus lies on fundamental and applied themes including exhaust gas purification, CO2 reduction and production of synthetic and biogenic fuels and chemical feedstocks. A particular feature is the knowledge-based development of novel catalysts and chemical process routes.

The professorship offers a wide range of courses in German and English language and is responsible for the specialization in chemical processes, heterogeneous catalysis, sustainable fuels and process analytics. Additionally, fundamental courses of chemical reaction engineering are provided for students of chemical engineering, chemistry, engineering, business engineering, environmental engineering and energy technology.
