- Professorship for Reaction Engineering
The Chair of Reaction Engineering is part of the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering and is affiliated with the Faculty of Mechanical, Process and Energy Engineering. The teaching and research activities focus primarily on industrial chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis.
Our research covers a broad spectrum of topics such as exhaust gas purification, CO2 reduction and the production of synthetic and biogenic fuels and chemical feedstocks. A key focus of our work is the knowledge-based development of innovative catalysts and sustainable chemical processes.
In teaching, we offer a broad range of courses in both German and English. The teaching portfolio comprises specialized courses in chemical processes, heterogeneous catalysis, sustainable fuels and process analytics as well as fundamental courses in chemical reaction engineering. The courses are available to students from diverse disciplines including chemical engineering, chemistry, engineering, industrial engineering, environmental engineering and energy technology.
