The Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering (IEC) focuses on the comprehensive experimental investigation, theoretical description, modelling and simulation of material and energy conversion processes. Examples include the generation of synthesis gas for the production of basic chemicals or fuels, the processing of carbonaceous raw materials for metallurgical and environmental applications as well as catalytic and non-catalytic flue gas cleaning and the synthesis of alternative fuels.
