Studying with disabilities or chronic illnesses
The aim of TU Bergakademie Freiberg is to enable all students to study without barriers and with equal rights. If you have any questions about the accessibility of your studies or about compensation for disadvantages, you can contact the representatives for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses or the Inclusion Officer.
Support for teachers
Teachers, examination boards and the university can also make use of the advice of the representatives in accordance with the Saxon Higher Education Freedom Act on issues relating to the organisation of study conditions, student counselling, compensation for disadvantages and accessibility.
In addition, you can obtain information material for your work with students with disabilities, chronic illnesses and psychological stress here.
Use counselling
The counselling provided by our representatives for students with disabilities can relate to:
- Orientation for prospective students when choosing their degree programme, taking into account disability-specific aspects
- Accessibility and support options in everyday student life
- Compensation for disadvantages in study and examination achievements,
The counselling is based on voluntariness, confidentiality and independence. The focus is on your questions and needs.

Working with an impairment
The TU Bergakademie Freiberg offers optimal conditions for people with disabilities. We offer every person with an impairment the opportunity to participate in social and student life as well as in everyday working life.
The aim is to ensure that people with:
- disabilities,
- chronic illnesses,
- partial performance disorders
- psychological impairments
are able to participate in university life.
