Our Services
Exchange Programs
We are your point of contact for all matters related to Erasmus+, DAAD projects and the administration of partnerships. From advising students and staff to supporting incoming students during their stay – we take care of the administration and organisation of all mobilities and databases to ensure smooth international cooperation.

Intercultural Exchange and Networking
We offer workshops on intercultural communication and awareness raising.
Our project 'International Students in Schools' allows international students to participate in school projects in various ways (see 2024 press release).
The International University Centre (IUZ) works together closely with the International Students' Association (AKAS), Students' Representative Council (StuRa), Faculty student representatives and the Student Union (Studentenwerk).

International Students and Doctoral Candidates
Our services are available to prospective and current students from all over the world. From information about studying in Freiberg to advice on admission requirements and application procedures, we are here to help.
- Providing information on applications for international students
- Answering questions from prospective students/study counselling (international [at] tu-freiberg [dot] de (international[at]tu-freiberg[dot]de)), advice on basic admission requirements and application procedures for international students
- Assistance with visa applications and other legal matters
- Administration of the Buddy Programme
- Orientation events (Welcome Services) and cultural exchange programmes
- General information on finding a job and funding your studies
- Support before and during your studies, e.g. help with finding doctors, childcare, dealing with authorities, finding translators, etc.
- Administration of DAAD funding programmes
- Award of the DAAD prize in cooperation with the Faculty Councils
- Advice and support for refugee prospective students
- Cultural and social activities: organising cultural events, excursions and trips
International Researchers
We offer support for international guest researchers and the university lecturers who host them.
EURECA-PRO
The Initiative European University on Responsible Consumption and Production (EURECA-PRO) is a cooperation between 9 higher education institutions in Europe. These partners joined forces to enable students and staff to study, teach and research in the field of responsible consumption and production with the long-term goal of a joined virtual and integrated European campus until 2040.
