Immediately after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, TU Bergakademie Freiberg broke off institutional contacts with universities in Russia - especially with Petersburg - and set up extensive aid programmes for students and universities in Ukraine. Within the scope of our possibilities, we try to offer concrete help and to make both studying and academic work possible despite the crisis. In Ukraine, kindergartens, schools and universities are being bombed and the educational basis of young people destroyed. They deserve the solidarity of the Bergakademie. We are sure that Ukrainian students and partners recognise this, trust us and enrich academic life in Freiberg.
