We work on material synthesis from molecular precursors. The main aim of our work is to produce useful inorganic materials. Their properties can be adjusted at the atomic level of the starting compounds. The focus is on the molecular and material chemistry of silicon, ultra-high pressure syntheses, sol-gel processes and hybrid materials.

Wir beschäftigen uns mit Materialsynthesen aus molekularen Vorstufen. Hauptziel der Arbeiten ist die Herstellung nützlicher anorganischer Materialien. Deren Eigenschaften sind auf der atomaren Ebene der Ausgangsverbindungen einstellbar. Schwerpunkte sind die Molekül- und Materialchemie des Siliciums, Höchstdrucksynthesen, Sol-Gel-Verfahren und Hybridmaterialien.
