Geo-Week "The Fascination of Geoengineering"

Geo-Week "The Fascination of Geoengineering"

As a mining town, Freiberg not only offers numerous interesting treasures above ground. There is a lot for inquisitive scientists to discover and explore underground in particular. As part of the project week at the Faculty of Geosciences, Geotechnics and Mining, participants will gain exciting insights into various processes and methods for extracting and processing mineral resources, the use of specialised machinery and rock and soil mechanics investigations. In addition, answers to questions about various engineering structures such as bridges and tunnels will be discussed. Participation and experimentation are expressly encouraged at our test stands. Practice-oriented excursions and a wide range of opportunities to make contact with students and staff are also part of the week's programme.
