When sending an e-mail within TU Freiberg, you can easily search for the required addresses under Outlook in the personal directory. You will find the personal addresses as well as the institutional mailboxes.

Note: This procedure only works for Exchange users.

Variant 1

A quick way to search for and select someone from the person directory is to use the "Check names" function.

Enter the surname in the "To" field and press "Check names" or the key combination "Ctrl+K".

A window opens with the name suggestions matching the search. Select the desired contact and confirm with "OK".

Compose a new email. Click on "To" to be able to select a recipient.

In the global search, you can only search for first names due to the changed naming convention.

If you want to search for a surname, click on "Advanced search" in the top right-hand window. In the new window, you can enter the name you are looking for in the "Surname" field on the right and start the search by clicking "OK".

Step 3

Double-click on an entry in the search results to add this email address to the "To" field. In this way, you can search for several people and add them as recipients.

Once you have clicked on "OK", the recipients will be included in the new email.
