Initial setup

TUBAF members must actively opt for data transfer in order to be able to use PaperCut.

  1. Activate data transfer to PaperCut
    via service.tu-freiberg.de or at the service portal PC in the reading room, 1st floor
  2. Wait for activation
    This process can take up to two hours. The process is only completed as soon as the printer accepts the university ID card

PaperCut has already been activated for registered guests.

Top up credit

Staff at the University Library are unable to top up credit for you.

 

Electronic top-up

PayPal is required for the electronic top-up of credit. The portal for TUBAF members is accessible within the university and via VPN.

Cash top-up

Cash top-up of print credits is only possible on Fritzsche & Steinbach service days. The dates can be found on our website under "Upcoming events", as well as on the information displays or at the lending and information desk.

Transferring credit

It is possible to send credit to another user via the PaperCut portal. If the recipient is a TUBAF member, the user name (e.g. "ab12cdef") must be used in the Transfer to user field. For guests of the University Library, the card serial number must be used.

Print

  • Log in to the printer by placing your student or work ID card (university ID card) or guest card on the card reader. The PaperCut app on the printer will open automatically.
  • Connect the storage device on the left-hand side of the display
  • Button Device functions, then button Print/Scan (storage device)
  • Supported file types: PDF files
  • Follow the instructions on the display

Send print job

  • The activation of the Internet via browser using the library number is required!
  • Open the desired document and select File Print
  • Make sure you are using the default printer FindMe_PCClient
  • To send the print job, enter the card serial number of your student or service card or guest card
  • . card

Pick up the print job

  • Log in to the printer by placing your student or work ID card or guest card on the card reader. The PaperCut app on the printer opens automatically.
  • Button Print release, then select all or selected jobs
  • Follow the instructions on the display

Upload a document

  • Note: this function is currently only available for TUBAF members
  • Log in to the PaperCut portal for TUBAF members
  •  
  • Select online printing
  • Button Submit print job
  • Select printer
    • papercut\FindMe - Standard printing
    •  
    •  
    •  
    • papercut\2-to-1 - print two pages on one sheet
  • optional: Set number of copies
  • Select and upload document
  • Supported file types: PDF files

The document is available for collection for a maximum of 7 days after processing and is then deleted from the server.

Note on data protection: Uploaded files are only stored on the PaperCut server (hosted by TUBAF's URZ) and never leave the server.

Pick up the print job

  • Log in to the printer by placing your student or work ID card or guest card on the card reader. The PaperCut app on the printer opens automatically.
  • Select the Print release button
  • All available print jobs are displayed
  • Follow the instructions on the display
  • Please log out when you leave the device!

Copy

  • Log in to the printer by placing your student or work ID card or guest card on the card reader. The PaperCut app on the printer opens automatically.
  • Button Device functions, then button Copy
  • Follow the instructions on the display
  • Please use Logout when you leave the device!
