GraFA-Workshop: Project Management
Pursuing your PhD is a complex and long-lasting project, which is much easier to master with sufficient planning. Therefore, the workshop imparts working and planning techniques to cope with restrictions of time and finance, risks, and different expectations.
These techniques are borrowed from general project management and are adapted to the PhD phase. That is why on one hand the course will provide basic insights into project management as it is applied in various kinds of organizations, including industry.
On the other hand, it contains many links to characteristics of the scientific system as well as real life examples from PhD situations. However, this course is not about universal golden planning rules. Instead, every participant will get the chance to find their individual approach to the topic; how much and what kind of planning is sufficient can only be answered by yourself.
The course will be especially helpful for PhD candidates in their beginning phase and for those who had been on temporary leave or find themselves in times of scope and schedule changes.
Workshop lasts 2 dates:
- 11 June 2018 (9:00am - 4:30pm)
- 12 June 2018 (9:00am - 4:30pm)
