The investigation of hydroseismicity at the NW-Bohemia / Vogtland earthquake swarm region

  • Goal: The main goal of the project is to test the hypothesis whether the diffusion of hydraulically induced pore pressure perturbations from the surface to the hypocentral depth could be a valid trigger mechanism of the earthquake swarms at the epicentral area of Novy Kostel (NW-Bohemia).

The Chilean subduction zone and offshore seismic imaging in an earthquake rupture area

  • Goal: The main goal of the project is to get a high resolution depth image with steeply dipping structures of the convergent continental margin offshore Northern Chile, in the main slip area of the 1st April 2014 Iquique earthquake. Main focus is on the reflections of the subduction interface in a depth between 7km at the subduction front and 16 km beneath the middle slope, prior to the earthquake rupture.
