Call Announcement

S-I-R Position

The S-I-R will co-teach one class in the fall, Earth Science 115: Physical Geology. In the spring the S-I-R will again co-teach ESC 115 and will also offer a special topics course in their area of expertise. This course will also be co-taught with a professor from DNAS that best aligns with the content area. Teaching only one class in the fall and repeating it in the spring will enable the S-I-R to help with restructuring of our environmental science major and engaging other groups on campus and in the community.

The S-I-R will also be engaged in a variety of internationalization efforts, including teaching science and non-science majors; providing science presentations at Dubuque Community K-16 schools and local educational entities including museums/centers; working with City of Dubuque officials and local citizen advisory groups to accomplish climate goals; and assisting in re-developing the University of Dubuque’s environmental science major/program.

Interested qualified candidates should contact Fulbright Germany for further details.

Requirements

Dubuque seeks a S-I-R with a terminal degree (minimum PhD) in an area related to exploring the structure and dynamics of climate and earth systems (agriculture, atmospheric science, aquatic sciences, climatology, ecology, environmental science, geology, glaciology, hydrology, oceanography). Even more important than years of teaching experience (2+ preferred), is the Scholar's passion for the subject matter.
