Aim of sub-project:
Indium and germanium are very rare elements in the earth’s crust. The availability of economic In and Ge resources is limited to a small number of metallogenic provinces worldwide. The main aims of the subproject are: The understanding of mineralogical bonding forms of In and the principles of their distribution in prospective polymetallic hydrothermal ore deposits; The understanding of space and time relationships of In-rich mineralization to the geological evolution and magmatic processes in the investigated areas, especially in the Erzgebirge.
Ongoing work and results:
Project still in progress.

Possible additional student projects:
To be defined.
