Tilmann Leisegang elected to the committee of the Lieselotte Templeton Prize of the DGK

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kristallographie (DGK)
Tilmann Leisegang was elected to the committee and as chairman of the Lieselotte Templeton Prize within the general assembly of the German Crystallographic Society (DGK).

On 16 March 2021, Tilmann Leisegang was elected together with Holger Kohlmann and Tobias Beck to the committee of the Lieselotte Templeton Prize within the general assembly of the 29th Annual Meeting of the DGK. This prize was initiated by the Young Crystallographers and confirmed in the general assembly.

The purpose of this student prize is to recognize outstanding academic achievements in which methods and aspects of crystallography have been successfully applied. The prize is awarded annually in memory of Lieselotte Templeton and will be awarded for the first time on the occasion of the 30th annual meeting of the DGK in 2022.

Lieselotte Templeton [1] is well known for her research in crystallography. She worked with absorption correction of X-ray diffraction data to solve crystal structures of compounds with heavy elements. She also worked on topics such as anomalous dispersion of synchrotron radiation at absorption edges, anomalous diffraction, and X-ray dichroism.
