GETGEOWEB

Genomics and Transcriptomics in Geobiotechnology and White Biotechnology

The European Union and the Federal State of Saxony support the junior research group GETGEOWEB at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg with resources of the European Social Fund (ESF). During a period of 30 months the project is funded with 1.32 million Euro. The aim of the research group is to receive and to further the knowledge concerning the genetic potential and the products of microorganisms for applications in fields of geobiotechnology and white biotechnology. The junior scientists will be trained in state-of-the-art techniques in genomics and transcriptomics and in bioinformatic analyses. As a consequence and based on the demand for highly qualified scientists, these scientists will be of particular relevance for the biotechnology industry in Saxony.
