During the winter semester 2010/11, a special course was held on filmmaking in anticipation of the 2011 Otto Film Project. The first half of the course explained storyline, movie script, copyright, acting, camera work, and editing. During the second half of the course, the attending students actually developed an idea into a screenplay for a movie under the guidance of Philipp Büttner, the tutor of the course. Philipp also directed the filming and supervised the editing of the movie. The outcome was the movie "Ivan the terrible vs. Rambo, the not so terrible". Since the movie was made under the supervision of a teacher, it did not participate in the 2011 Otto Awards competition.
