When is the application deadline?
For the application deadlines, see https://tu-freiberg.de/fakult6/imre/application-procedure. Late submissions may be considered only if there are still free places. For students in need of a visa, it all depends on the speed of the embassies, and those vary immensely.
When does the program start?
The program starts annually in October, the individual lectures begin on the second Monday of October. Please note that arriving late is no option, the first days are so important to get you accustomed, plus the first deadlines (registration for seminars, tutorials, etc.) also expire very early.
How can I prove sufficient English language proficiency?
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with at least 90 points (IBT) (DI Code 8233)
Or: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (academic test) with a minimum of band 6.5
Or: equivalent English language test
A waiver for the test of English language proficiency will be granted to students with English as mother tongue, and may be granted where the previous education was completely in English language.
Does the program or university offer scholarships?
The programme is tuition free- so we are not able to grant scholarships. However, several external funding opportunities exist.
How much are the living expenses in Freiberg?
The usual monthly living expenditure amounts 400 to 600 Euro including accommodation, food, medical insurance, etc. Dormitories are offered by the Studentenwerk.
Does this program offer PhD-studies as well?
No, the program itself does not offer PhD Studies. However, excellent students can take part in diverse PhD Programs of the university. More information here.
What will be my job perspectives after graduation?
As far as we experienced with our graduates, most of them found a job within a short period of time after graduation. Typically, IMREs work as managers, experts, scientists in national or international companies, research institutions, organizations etc.
