Mov(i)e It!

Film project: concept

The basic idea is to show a film or a documentary about a social issue once a month during term as a basis and motivation for a subsequent discussion. All films shown in one semester will be connected by a common topic and will reflect realities in different countries (and if possible, also on different continents). The evenings are open to all students and lecturers, international and German ones alike. Our aim is that everybody has the opportunity to participate and exchange points of view between people from different backgrounds.

Short presentation: “Introduction to Fairtrade” given by Annisa Rahmawati
Movie: Black Gold
Date: Sunday, June 2, 2013, 4pm

About the movie:

While we continue to pay for our lattes and cappuccinos, have you ever thought that the price paid to coffee farmers remains so low that many have been forced to abandon their coffee fields. Nowhere is this paradox more evident than in Ethiopia , the birthplace of coffee. This documentary is asking the consumers to wake up and smell the coffee and to find out how much of what we drink is fair.
