Awards & Honors
ITUN Researcher Martin Dirauf has obtained the 2nd Prize for the Best Communication of Early Career Investigator in Aerogels Processing and Modelling in the Training School on Aerogels processing, modelling and environmental-driven applications, held at Coimbra, Portugal, from October 21-23.
He presented a talk entitled “Measurement of mixture composition inside Bio-Gels during solvent exchange using 1D-Raman spectroscopy”. The presentation focused on the background of 1D-Raman line measurements and its possible applications in aerogels processing.
The Training school, organized as part of the AERoGELS COST Action network featured presentations by renowned experts from the aerogels community as well as several practical courses on topics like molecular simulation, freeze- and supercritical drying of gels.
was identified by the jury as the best poster exhibited during the annual meeting (18.-20. Feb. 2019 in Freiberg, Germany) of the subsection "High Pressure Process Technology" of the ProcessNet.

During the "7th Mini-Idea competition" (Juy 5th, 2018) of the foundation association SAXEED, Dr. Hans-Werner Schröder was decorated with the special award "foundation patron". The award was conferred on him by the Gründernetzwerk SAXEED for his mentoring support for the foundation project "eva; Entwicklung einer energetisch optimierten verschleißreduzierten Agglomerationstechnologie" (Development of an energy efficient wear reduced agglomeration technology)
“Best Poster Award“ at Annual Meeting of ProcessNet working party “High pressure engineering”
At the annual meeting (2015) of the ProcessNet working party “High pressure engineering” in Darmstadt the poster entitled with “Untersuchungen zur parameterabhängigen Ausbildung von Kontaktwinkeln an mikroporösen keramischen Oberflächen bei erhöhten Drücken und Temperaturen [Investigation on the contact angle on microporous ceramic surfaces at elevated pressures and temperatures]” was awarded with the best poster award by the high pressure community. The authors of the posters are: Dr. R. Haseneder, Dipl.-Ing. A. Felix, M.Sc. M. Klatte, Dr. V. Herdegen und Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. J.-U. Repke. The investigations are aiming on the determination of surface tension between a hydrothermal and a microporous ceramic membrane phase to employ a resistance model for the modelling of permeability of the hydrothermal phase through the membrane for different operating conditions.
