A detailed numerical investication (CFD) of the transient flow in larynx will be Fig. 1:. Isosurface of vorticity Simulation colored by the magnitude of velocity.performed. The numerical model will be generalized several stages. In a first stage the movement of the vocal fold is neglected. Fig. 1 shows the development of vorticity after sudden oppening of the vocal folds. Later on the effect of the vocal fold movement (moving mesh) on the flow an the acoustics ind larynx will be investigated. The numerical results will be compared against results from experiments.
