Topological grain boundary reconstruction from 3D EBSD data
In this project, we work out a method to reconstruct grains boundaries from 3D EBSD data. The grain boundaries are constructed as a polyhedral skeleton capturing the topology. The reconstruction algorithm is scan line based using intervoxel representation. The method is implemented on the Graphite research platform. Using a geometry matrix constructed at the same time with the polyhedral skeleton, a corresponding triangle mesh is computed with tools available from Graphite.
