SYSEXPL - Systematic Exploration
This is a joint research project between NTB Interstate University of Technology Buchs, CBM GmbH, and TU Bergakademie Freiberg, aiming at the investigation and development of potential field methods (magnetic and gravitational) for the use in geothermal exploration. At our group in Freiberg, we focus on an improved approximation of the long-wavelength contributions to the lithospheric magnetic field and the development of a mathematical setup for joint processing of magnetic and gravitational data.
Funding: 2019-2022 (BMWi – 7th Energy Research Programme)
Previous Projects
Time-Space Multiscale Separation of Ocean Tide Generated Magnetic Signals
The project focuses on the development and test of an approach to include spatial localization and correlation into the extraction of time periodic ocean tide generated magnetic fields.
