2nd Status Seminar and Virtuhcon Advisory Board Meeting of Virtuhcon phase II
The annual Status Seminar was hold on 26 April 2018. During the seminar, the group leaders presented the latest scientific results and the members of the Advisory Board as well as professors and scientific associates of the co-operating Institutes had the possibility to get an overview about the current progress in Virtuhcon. After the Status Seminar the Speaker of the Advisory Board Prof. Dr. Hans Kuipers from Technical University Eindhoven moderated the discussion of the project progress in the Advisory Board Meeting.
Status Seminar and first Advisory Board Meeting of Virtuhcon phase II
The annual Status Seminar was hold on 11 May 2017. During the seminar, the latest scientific results were presented and the members of the Advisory Board as well as professors and scientific associates of the co-operating Institutes had the possibility to inform himself or herself about the current progress in Virtuhcon. On 12 May 2017, the first Advisory Board Meeting of the second research phase took place. Focus was the strategy and orientation of Virtuhcon in the next four years, as well as the evaluation of the research so far. As new Speaker of the Advisory Board Prof. Dr. Hans Kuipers from Technical University Eindhoven was elected. Vice Speaker is Dr. Nikola Anastasijevic.
Workshop Fluidized Bed Modeling in Freiberg
In March, we organized a workshop on fluidized bed modeling. For this reason, many experts from fluidized bed modeling across Europe visited Freiberg and the centre for innovation competence Virtuhcon.
Appointment of the Advisory Board Members of Virtuhcon Phase II
In December 2016, the Rector of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg appointed the future members of the Advisory Board of Virtuhcon in phase II. In the years 2017 to 2019, the following members will support Virtuhcon with their experience and expertise:
Kick-off meeting of the co-operating institutes of Virtuhcon phase II
On 30 October 2016, the kick-off meeting of the 11 academic Partners of Virtuhcon phase II took place at the institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering in Freiberg. The cooperating institutes will work closely together to achieve the targeted objectives of Virtuhcon in the future.

Advisory Board Meeting 2011 – 22.09.2011
The international advisory board of the Center for Innovation Competence Virtuhcon met for the third time in Freiberg from September 21st to 22nd, 2011. On September 21st the members of the board had the chance to become familiar with the tradition of mining. They had a descent to the Underground Mining "Reiche Zeche", where take place a mini mining tour such as the welcome evening with a mining dinner.
On October 22nd the members visited the "Cave" at the Institute of Informatics (TU Bergakademie Freiberg). Directly thereafter the heads of the three research groups, Prof. Christian Hasse, Dr. Petr Nikrityuk and Dr. Patrick Masset, presented their results up to now and future research objectives concerning the Virtuhcon case. The members of the board gave useful advice about the future research work at the center.

Advisory Board Meeting 2010 – 07./08.10.2010
The international advisory board of the Center for Innovation Competence Virtuhcon met for the second time in Freiberg on 7 and 8 October 2010. On 7 October the members of the board had the chance to get to know better the equipment of Virtuhcon visiting the Institute for Heat Engineering and Thermodynamics and the Institute for Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering, where the Virtuhcon research center is located. On the evening the advisory board members participated in a dinner together with the core group professors and heads of the research groups at the restaurant in the recently restored Castle Freudenstein.
On 8 October the heads of the three research groups, Prof. Christian Hasse, Dr. Petr Nikrityuk and Dr. Patrick Masset, presented their results up to now and future research objectives. During the meeting members of the advisory board discussed together with the core group professors and Virtuhcon staff the realization of the scientific aims. The members of the board gave useful advice about the future research work at the center. At the end the advisory board members showed their confidence about the scientific progress of the Virtuhcon research center.
Status Seminar 2010 – 04.10.2010
This year´s Virtuhcon status seminar took place at the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering on 4 October. The event focused on the scientific progress and future development of the Center for Innovation Competence Virtuhcon.
The heads of the research groups Reacting Flow Systems, Multiphase Systems and Interphase Phenomena presented their research groups and explained accomplished and future research objectives. Participants like representatives of Project Management Juelich showed their optimism about the future development of research at Virtuhcon.
|Advisory Board Meeting 2009 – 09.10.2009|
The advisory board of the Centre for Innovation Competence has been constituted in the beginning of October 2009. Upon advice of the initiating professors of Virtuhcon selected representatives of international scientific institutions and industry has been invited to join the board. The advisory board is an important body to ensure the future success of Virtuhcon. Board members will advise the professors and research group leaders in terms of the strategy concept and questions regarding international positioning, public perception of the centre, increase of fundraising, sponsoring and achievement of top positions in education and research.
Prof. K. Riedle, formerly member of the Executive board of Siemens PG, has been elected Chairman of the advisory board. Prof. F. Durst, formerly Director of the Chair of Fluid Dynamics at Universität Erlangen, will serve as Deputy Chairman. Other members of the board are Dr. G. Aichinger (Siemens VAI, Austria), Prof. C. Cruz-Neira (LITE - Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise, USA), M. Gall (BASF, Germany), Prof. R. Gupta (University of Alberta, Canada), Prof. K. Hack (GTT Technologies, Germany), F. The meeting of the advisory board took place in one of the most impressive halls at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the "Drusenkabinett". On the eve of the meeting the board members enjoyed a visit to the recently opened museum Terra Mineralia and a dinner in the restaurant of Freudenstein castle.
