The topics of diversity, equality and inclusion are among the central tasks of a
university and part of the self-image of
academic learning and work. As a university, we place particular value on a family-like
approach and individual support.
At TU Bergakademie Freiberg, students and employees are included in their study and working life regardless of their gender identity, family and health situation with or without handicaps, social origin, sexual orientation, skin colour or cultural background, and their individuality is valued and encouraged.
The family-friendly university stands for a compatibility of studies, academic career, professional activity and starting a family as well as the fulfilment of family related obligations, such as caring for relatives. The TU Bergakademie works towards this goal through various activities and networks.
On March 15, 2014, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg was awarded the certificate "family-friendly university" by berufundfamilie GmbH, thus committing itself in the target agreement to a series of measures to ensure the compatibility of family and career.
Equality and equal opportunities
The realisation of equal opportunities and thus equality for women, men and persons of a different gender identity as well as for family friendliness and open encounters with people, cultures and ideas is a goal of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg's mission statement.
