Full speed ahead - we start off with studies and research:

A wide range of interdisciplinary subjects is typical for the faculty. In addition, excellent technical equipment is offered from Pilot research facilities on an industrial scale up to the most modern laboratories. Large-scale research projects such as the Center for Innovation Competence ZIK Virthucon funded by the BMBF are close to industry and scientific competence. In addition, faculty scientists are involved in the DFG Collaborative Research Centers 799: Trip Matrix Composite and 920: Multifunctional Filters for Molten Metal Filtration.


Thanks to close cooperation with industrial companies, the students can complete insightful industry internships, but can also write their papers and even industry promotions there. So many get to know their future employer already in the practical semester or in the combination of internship and bachelor thesis. Through training at facilities close to the industrial scale, such as, for example, at a large-scale energy conversion facility or the crash and life span test area in the Process and Technology Development, early involvement in research takes place.
