In addition to the scholarship "Deutschlandstipendium", the TU Bergakademie offers a variety of scholarships and prizes that are already awarded to students. The university or private donors, companies or associations provide funds for this purpose. In cooperation with industry, faculties also create financial incentives for students of certain courses of study. Below is a selection of scholarships and prizes:

     Individual amount goes to six selected graduates who have passed their final examination or their diploma, bachelor or master thesis with "very good

  • DAAD Prize (annual)
    Sponsor: Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD)
    1000 Euro for outstanding achievements of a foreign student

  • Hans-Carl-von-Carlowitz Prize (annual)
    Sponsor: Association of Practice Partners of the IÖZ
    Individual amount for an outstanding diploma thesis and dissertation in the field of geosciences

  • Helmut-Härtig Prize (annual)
    Sponsor: Institute for Mining
    300 Euro for scientific-technical achievements of students in the field of mining/civil engineering

  • Menges-Prize, Promotional Prize of the VDMA (annually)
    Sponsor: IKV, VDMA und PlasticsEurope
    400 Euro each for two engineering students, who present creative solutions in industrial plant construction in their written papers

  • Franz-Kögler-Prize + Franz-Kögler-Special Prize (annual)
    Sponsor: Verein Freiberger Geotechniker e.V.
    500 Euro for outstanding written scientific papers by selected students and graduates of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering

  • Dr.-Rolf-Umbach-Prize (annual)
    Sponsor: Dr.-Rolf-Umbach-Stiftung
    Amount of about 5000 to 6000 Euro goes to at least four prize winners for diploma theses or doctorates in the field of metal forming
