The 'Internet of Things', the energy network, the cloud and the well-known Internet together form the substrate on which the Internet of Energy is created: an overall energy supply system in which sustainable energy production, decentralised storage, demand-oriented transport and intelligent consumption are optimised.
Our six-semester interdisciplinary bachelor's programme covers the need for qualified engineers for the new energy industry. Relevant course contents, such as mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, economics, law and energy or electrical engineering are combined with each other. They are oriented towards the current requirements of the energy sector. The basis for this course of studies is mathematics with topics such as optimization, differential equations, graph theory, etc. Subject-specific contents around energy open professional perspectives in the national and international job market of the energy industry to the graduates. In addition to specialist content, students acquire interdisciplinary skills.
Graduates of the Bachelor's programme Internet of Energy are able to understand the complex connections in the Internet of Energy outlined above and to model and analyse the processes there with the help of mathematical methods. They can design technical and organisational processes and implement them in the relevant technical systems on the basis of modern software components. Furthermore, they are able to develop and use automated applications to monitor the processes and to evaluate the resulting data and to use them for the optimisation of the processes.
