Study concept

Approx. 750 foundries in Germany supply the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering with high-quality casting components. No wind turbine or motor vehicle would move without castings. Even many small parts, such as those required for precision mechanics or medical technology, are casted. Casting is usually the fastest way from the material to the component. The foundry engineers have to provide engineering support throughout the entire process - from the melting of the metal, through casting, to solidification of the melt and subsequent further processing of the casting. They are responsible for production as well as for materials selection and product development.

If you are interested in mathematical, scientific and technical questions in the metal industry and especially in their immediate implementation in practice, this course offers you a solid education in a sought-after profession. Here, materials science and technological knowledge of foundry technology is imparted ready for use. In addition, the industrial internship and the external bachelor thesis with getting to know modern companies and technologies offer the desired and necessary practical relevance.
