Start of the Freiberg Student Days 2019: 13 days dedicated to culture

Freiberg Student Days 2019
With the silent film comedy "Three Ages" by and with Buster Keaton, the Freiberg Student Days in the Petrikirche will open at 8 pm on 11 June. Until 23 June, students can expect a varied cultural programme on a total of 13 days.

The silent film, which traditionally forms the opening event, will be accompanied by a special highlight this year: The musical accompaniment will take place live at the Silbermann organ for the first time.

Other attractions include the "StilMix" party with a mixture of live music and cans on 12 June in the Alte Mensa and a cultural evening at the Tivoli Freiberg hosted by AKAS (Arbeitskreis Ausländische Studierende). Almost traditionally, the Poetry Slam will also be back on 23 June, with young poets introducing themselves to the audience with their self-written lyrics. New this year: The event will take place open-air at the Mensavorplatz.

The cooperation with the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the main sponsor, could also be extended. This year, the Health Day for students and employees on 18 June and the Night of Science and Business on 22 June will be an integral part of the programme.

On 21 June, the Central Saxon Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of GMD Raoul Grüneis, will be giving a guest performance on the campus with "A Journey Around the World", also in the open air.

This year's highlight will again be the concert at the Mensavorplatz on 20 June. After a relaxing chill-out in the afternoon, the actual concert with the bands "Team all you can Beat" and "Zugezogen Maskulin" will begin at 7 pm.

The Student Days are organised jointly by the Studentenwerk Freiberg, the Student Council of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and many student clubs and associations.
